They live.
But we survive.
We hang on to the little intricate threads that have been woven into the fabric of our realities hoping that our distant dream will become reality. We hang on with all our strength and strive to gain wisdom so that one day we may live.
They live.
But we survive.
We walk the streets knowing that the melanin in our skin is why they despise us. We hope for some kind of equality although in our minds we know that it is unattainable. We fight tirelessly with people who excuse their behaviour towards us with the negative behaviours that they themselves created in us.
They live.
But we survive.
Because we know
That one day we will
Take back what was ours
We do not live today but we survive for tomorrow.
